I decided that I would start a podcast, but I am not feeling so well. However, you should already know this if you are following me on Twitter. So stay tuned for the podcast, but until then, check out the precursor below.

whale

1. It is a sign of growth. You will see the infamous “fail whale” when the Twitter servers are jammed up with people tweeting. The image should just be a reminder that there are thousands of other people trying to do the same thing that you are.

2. It reminds you that you value the service. I am not suggesting that downtime is good, but you only miss Twitter when it isn’t available. If you are using Twitter you must value the service, or you would not be using it.

3. It is not necessary to life. There may be some of us that feel addicted to Twitter & think that we couldn’t live without it. However, at the end of the day Twitter downtime has not yet killed anyone. It isn’t that big of a deal. Just send a tweet of relief when Twitter gets everything up and ready.

4. It is a free service. Lets face it: Twitter is free. You don’t pay a single penny to use it. You are not subjected to dozens of adds on your Twitter profile, & there are many free 3rd party apps that will update your Twitter status. Twitter continues to gain in popularity as many corporations, small businesses, & individuals begin to use the service. we all need to appreciate the freeness of Twitter because you can use Twitter to promote your blog, podcast, or business.

port4I have not been doing much posting here lately, but I have been updating my portfolio. I am not a photographer by trade, but I do dabble with it to a small degree. Check out my portfolio page to see my work. I have several different sizes of each photo and they are perfectly sized for use as a desktop background. Some of the wallpapers are even sized for the iPhone/iPod Touch.

Feel free to let me know if you would like a different size image. I will be updating the gallery as I sort through my photos. Hope that you enjoy.

German Books

During my study of the German language at CCGA, I have accrued quite the collection of German-related books. However, the majority of them are reference books. The only German literature that I own is pictured above. In 4 semesters of learning German, I have 6 German books, a few German magazines, & a handful of German newspapers.

So I have decided to change that. I am going to buy a German book each month. Who knows if I will ever get around to reading them, but at least I will have them.

adagio
adagio-tea-pricesSo I was shopping around online for some tea, and I have been watching a lot of diggnation lately. Kevin and Alex name-drop Adagio Teas all the time. Adagio has even made some special tea blends for the cast and crew of the show. I went over to Adagio’s site to browse their stock and was surprised by how awesome the site is. They have a really sweet interface and they have a cool tea info section. But the thing that really got me is the way they display their prices. They break it down into a “per cup” price. Adagio also has a Tea Timer for you to download. So the verdict is: Awesome site guys, I will be ordering some black tea before the weekend is over.

I decided that I wanted a blog where I could talk about more than just kayaking. So here it is. I will discuss a variety of topics that interest me and, hopefully, you.
